An example of young captain, winning South Africa the U-19 Word Cup, Aiden Markram remains one of the flamboyant striker who rose to fame at an early age. Although he achieved the success at an early age, he had to wait for a long while before he could sign a professional deal. He played for the University of Pretoria and Northern. He was also a part of the 2016-17 Titans squad.
With guidance from Mark Boucher, Markram performed well and averaged over 50 in both the first-class and fifty-over competitions. He was selected for SA’s A side tour to UK in Jun 2016. Also, he was chosen as the captain for long term format cricket. Markram scored a 71 against the Lions and a century against Hampshire even though his team did not perform well in both the matches. This helped him include in South Africa’s Test squad against England in July-August 2017.
That Markram has a long career ahead of him plus his young age, have helped him enter the international cricket with revived focus and contemporary outlook towards the game plan. He makes sure to score big without repeating old mistakes. He is abundant with the fundamental criteria for an opening batsman.
