Josephat Ababu is a former Kenyan Cricketer. He is a paceman who returned to the Kenyan cricket squad for the 2004 Champions Trophy after a three-year gap from cricket along with other players, Brijal Patel, Rageb Aga, and Malhar Patel. He made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe in the year 1999. In that match, he took the wicket of Zimbabwe’s Neil Johnson in his first delivery, a feat which only a few bowlers have been able to accomplish. Despite making a start with a bang, he was dropped from the Kenyan team in the year 2001. After a gap of three years, he was recalled to be a member of the Kenyan squad for the Champions Trophy when he impressed the selectors with a penetrating bowling against Pakistan’s A team in the year 2004.

Maintaining constant performance throughout his career, he played more domestic matches as compared to international matches. He played his last ODI against Bangladesh in the year 2006. Ababu had an easy, athletic action and fluid delivery.
